A2 Hosting Launches PHP 6 Hosting & PHP Version Selection Tool

Linux hosting company A2 Hosting (http://www.a2hosting.com) has released PHP 6 Hosting (http://www.a2hosting.com/web-development/php-6-hosting). A2 Hosting’s server support for the latest web development technology has consistently been ahead of the industry curve. This has been made evident by their release of PHP 6 hosting and the fact that they were one of the very first hosting companies to offer PHP 5 hosting.

PHP is an open source scripting language. Improvements seen in PHP 6 compared to its predecessor versions include improved support for Unicode, a new accelerator named Alternative PHP Cache (APC) and namespace to prevent conflicts among class names.

Complementing their release of PHP 6 hosting, A2 Hosting has also announced their release of a PHP version selection tool. This feature, found within their hosting accounts’ cPanel control panels, puts A2 Hosting customers in control of which version of PHP they would like to use. This feature makes it easy for users to select their preferred PHP Hosting (http://www.a2hosting.com/web-development/php-hosting) version from 5 options that include PHP 5.2, PHP 5.3 and of course PHP 6.

CEO Bryan Muthig commented on these announcements: “A large portion of our customer base is comprised of serious web developers. They will greatly benefit from being able to choose cutting edge versions of PHP like version 6 for their projects. Other customers want the most stable versions of PHP and will likely select the default PHP 5.2 Hosting with APC optimizer option”
