Cartika Selects CloudLinux OS

February 9, 2010 – 4:31 pmNo Comment

Cloud Linux Inc, an innovative, privately funded technology company serving the needs of web hosts and datacenters, announces it has been selected by Cartika, an industry innovator in cloud hosting services, to be the Linux Operating System (OS) platform for their new CartikaCloud initiative. This announcement is significant as it marks the first CloudLinux hosting partner, following its market debut less than 30 days ago. Cartika, who just announced its CartikaCloud service, selected CloudLinux because of their LVESM technology which allows CartikaCloud to deliver a new level of server stability and performance.

“Companies of all sizes deserve cutting-edge technology to continue to optimize their server investment, software applications and web-based productivity,”states Andrew Rouchotas, CEO of Cartika.”CloudLinux delivers new technology for new levels of server stability and performance.”

The core technology behind CloudLinux OS is Lightweight Virtual EnvironmentSM (LVE),a kernel-level technology which limits the amount of resources (CPU, I/O, memory) available to a group of processes. With LVE, administrators now have the tools to control the CPU and IO demands of individual tenants, so that a single site can not slow or take down a whole server. While similar in approach to container virtualization, LVE is lightweight and transparent. The LVE level fair-share CPU scheduler makes sure that each account gets enough CPU resources to run efficiently.

CloudLinux OS is able to deliver significant benefits to Cartika’s customers including:

- Innovative LVE technology that can increase server stability and performance with less downtime. Additionally, LVE increases server flexibility allowing clients to run an account based, application level virtualization
- Complete, 24/7 support
- Compatible with the major control panel for easy management and deployment

“Our partnership with Cartika represents the synergy between cloud infrastructure and cloud OS. It is not enough to guarantee 100% hardware and network performance. The software and OS also have to scale for the cloud.” explains Igor Seletskiy, CEO and Founder of CloudLinux. “Cartika’s philosophy and business model are very much in line with CloudLinux, and we are delighted that they are our inaugural, première partner, signed within our first 30 days of our product launch.”

CloudLinux’s innovation has been quickly recognized for its new approach to server stability and performance; helping its partners achieve new levels of customer satisfaction and profitability. For more information, please visit www.cloudlinux.com
