CloudDav enables WebDav access for S3, SkyDrive and other Storage Clouds
SMEStorage announced that CloudDav is now available to purchase for all registered users of the SMEStorage Gateway service, whether they are free or premium members.
CloudDav enables WebDav access for supported storage clouds, such as Amazon S3 and SkyDrive, even when the underlying storage cloud itself does not support it. This makes it ideal for being able to access documents via iPhone / iPad applications that support WebDav, such as Office2, from storage providers that are otherwise not supported.
If users are using more than one cloud they will see all their clouds files simply by adding the SMEStorage WebDav service enabling them for example, to manage files from Amazon S3, SkyDrive, Google Docs, and more, all from one WebDav file system. For our existing and new iPhone and iPad users, if they send a screenshot of their device with their login name on the device we’ll enable the WebDav service for their account free of charge. This offer is available for the whole month of September.

SMEStorage provides provide a cloud storage gateway in which file meta-data is synchronised, but all files continue to reside on the original storage platform. In this way SMEStorage can offer value added services and clients to existing cloud storage providers, whilst also providing a single cloud file system which enables files from many different cloud storage providers to be managed in one cloud file tree. SMEStorage provide services to individual users, and also to corporate users via its Organisation Cloud platform offering, which combines file sharing, user management and collaboration features
