The Planet Revamps Portfolio with New Value-Based Servers

The Planet, the global leader in IT hosting, today added two new value-priced servers to its product portfolio that include the latest in Intel processing horsepower. Featuring the new Intel Pentium G6950 processor, these powerful servers are now the entry point for the company’s Dell server fleet.

As an additional value, all new server purchases from The Planet receive free-of-charge the choice of a cPanel or Parallels Plesk control panel, free Symantec antivirus software and 10GB of free cloud storage.

“There’s an ever-present requirement to provide customers with the fastest processing power at affordable price points,” said Todd Mitchell, The Planet’s General Manager for Dedicated Hosting and Global Services. “Companies considering hosting, or even those who have already recognized the value of replacing their do-it-yourself IT infrastructures, investigate the best value for their business. With these new servers and free bundles, The Planet is staking its claim as the hosting industry’s value leader.”

Both new servers – the G6950 SATA and the G6950 SATA Plus – come equipped with the Intel Pentium G6950, featuring a dual-core 2.8 GHz, 32nm processor for more computing power in a small package. Both are showcased in a Dell PowerEdge R210 chassis, which provides the smallest power footprint in the 11th generation PowerEdge portfolio.

With the Pentium G6950 SATA, customers can take advantage of 2GB of RAM, a 250GB SATA hard drive and 2TB of bandwidth for $99 per month. The G6950 SATA Plus model – priced at $125 per month – provides twice the RAM and hard drive space.
