NovaQuantum, a developer of Web 2.0 software tools, today announced the release of their newest product, A.R.M.S.: Advanced Resource Management System.
“We created A.R.M.S. to be easy enough so that even the most inexperienced MySQL user would be able to perform all of the necessary tasks to manage their databases, yet powerful enough to let Database Administrators do their work unencumbered”
The web-based utility provides powerful MySQL® database management features that are missing from the most popular online MySQL tools currently in use.
“Up until now, Web hosting companies, Webmasters and Database Administrators have had to make do with legacy database management tools that have outdated user interfaces and have seen little significant changes since the 1990’s,” according to Edward Constantin, CTO of NovaQuantum.
“MySQL is a robust and powerful DBMS, and it’s time that Web hosting companies and users have a tool to manage it that is equal in power,” Michael Deacon, CEO of the company, added.
Authenticated users can remotely create, drop and alter databases, tables and indexes for all of the servers under their control that run MySQL 4.x or greater.
Being able to remotely manage online multiple MySQL servers from one interface offers significant time savings and ease of use over legacy MySQL database management applications that must be installed on each individual computer. This feature is especially powerful for Web hosting companies that could use this software to replace the outdated technology currently offered to their customers.
The software can also be used to create routines, views, run SQL queries, and access any other available MySQL features based upon the rights of the logged in user of the MySQL server.
The rich Web 2.0 interface reduces the keystrokes required to perform tasks such as managing table keys, and drop-down boxes make performing tasks like setting filters nearly effortless.
“We created A.R.M.S. to be easy enough so that even the most inexperienced MySQL user would be able to perform all of the necessary tasks to manage their databases, yet powerful enough to let Database Administrators do their work unencumbered,” Constantin said.
