Parallels, announced at WorldHostingDays that it has delivered the first control panel to support IPv6 addresses and Server Name Indication (SNI) preserving IPv4 addresses. It also enables multiple SSL certificates on a single IP address. This one-two punch allows service providers to successfully deal with the imminent shortage of IPv4 addresses.
The announcement is part of the Parallels Plesk Panel 10.2 update, currently in beta and available in April, that provides complete support of IPv6 on either Linux or Windows servers. Parallels Plesk Panel 10.2 can run each new subscription on IPv4, IPv6 or as a dual stack for both IPv4+IPv6 simultaneously.
“As Parallels Plesk Panel is the only control panel that supports IPv6, it will enable us to be an industry leader in seamlessly moving to IPV6,” said Patrick Pulvermüller, Managing Director at Host Europe GmbH. “It keeps us ahead of our competition, ensures our IPv4 addresses are preserved and all future addresses sold will work for many years to come. It really is ensuring our customers are confident with our business.”
Share This, Twitter and Facebook can now be added easily to Websites through Parallels Sitebuilder in this latest update to Parallels Plesk Panel. A new embedded video module has also been added. The new Sitebuilder tool has the ability for end users to build Website content and, if happy with the design, purchase the Website immediately.
In a recent SMB survey conducted by Parallels, 54% of those with a Website have a Facebook page, 23% use Twitter, and 20% have a blog.
Web-savvy SMBs are clearly looking to extend their Web presence by using social networking. It is therefore vital for service providers to introduce easy-to-use publishing tools like Parallels Sitebuilder to help SMBs integrate their website with their social networking activities.
With Parallels Plesk Panel 10.2, VPS providers can also offer special VPS-optimized versions that are more efficient than its competitors. In fact Parallels Plesk Panel 10.2 is the only control panel that delivers a 2x lower resource footprint in virtualized environments. This reduces operational costs for service providers without impacting the end user experience. By enabling only the functions that a virtual server needs, each virtual server uses a fraction of the normally required resources.
“We continue to enable our partners to deliver the most innovative services to increase their profits in the cloud,” said Jack Zubarev, President of Marketing and Alliances at Parallels. “This update to Parallels Plesk Panel helps service providers to remain innovative while ensuring their business is future-proofed.”
