Bitpalast’s worldwide internet providing service is introducing a new host monitoring system as a reaction to doubling the number of its webhosting customers in the first three quarters of 2011. All important services of Bitpalast’s entry level servers are now tested by a monitoring program every five minutes.
If a service interruption is detected, the monitoring program can restart the service automatically. Under normal circumstances situations necessitating a server restart can also be detected. In addition, a network management center and technicians in local data centers monitor hardware and network connections 24 hours a day.
Bitpalast’s new host monitoring service minimizes downtime and relieves the company’s support team. The monitoring program only informs support about a service interruption after automatic error correction has failed. The software also checks resource utilization and performs a self-test. Support is also alerted if a software test is overdue, indicating a possible problem.
“With the new system Bitpalast gains time, which can be invested in personal customer support,” says Bitpalast general manager, Peter Debik.
Since 1990, the company has been developing into a leading provider of systematic internet solutions and today operates web servers for international, almost exclusively commercial customers. The portfolio includes website design and web hosting services as well as personal support for each customer.
