ViaWest Hosting Leases New Data Center in Las Vegas

ViaWest, one of the largest privately-held data center, cloud computing and managed services providers in North America, announces today it has completed a lease agreement on a 110,000 square foot facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada, which will house its second data center in the greater Las Vegas area. This new facility will employ the highest standards in data center design and energy efficiency and is expected to be LEED and ENERGY STAR Certified. Opening and available for new customers in Q1 2013, the facility will ultimately offer more than 70,000 square feet of raised floor colocation space.

With a 2(N+1) UPS configuration, ViaWest’s North Las Vegas facility will provide reliable power with high-density and flexible configurations. The SSAE 16/SOC 1 and SOC 3 compliant data center will be backed by ViaWest’s industry leading 100% Service Level Agreement (SLA) on power, bandwidth and network services. Managed by 24×7 expert support staff and onsite engineers, ViaWest’s commitment to its customers and delivering customized solutions centered around them will remain a core focus for the new facility.

“Our North Las Vegas data center will offer our clients Nevada’s most flexible and environmentally responsible data center to house their core infrastructure along with serving as a secure disaster recovery back-up site,” states Dave Leonard, Senior Vice President of Data Center Operations for ViaWest. “We are seeing tremendous demand for high-end data center space that not only offers the utmost in security and reliability, but also includes a hands-on, personalized approach in working with clients. This is a distinction not commonly found in larger data centers today.”

ViaWest’s North Las Vegas facility will be one of the greenest data centers in the United States, incorporating the latest in ViaWest’s cooling technology, custom designed for the Las Vegas climate. This 10MW+ powered site will be engineered with multiple medium voltage utility feeders, which further ensure power diversity and reliability. Upon completion of this facility, ViaWest will offer over 450,000 square feet of usable raised floor data center space across 23 data centers throughout Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Utah.

“With our first Las Vegas data center at capacity, this expansion will enable us to significantly increase our footprint while meeting heightened demand for premium data center space,” states Roy Dimoff, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of ViaWest. “We are excited to grow our investment in this market and further establish ourselves in the local community. ViaWest’s North Las Vegas data center will truly be an exceptional facility.”

“ViaWest has been serving the greater Las Vegas business community for many years,” adds Shari Buck, Mayor of the City of North Las Vegas. “We are excited that such a high quality organization has selected the City of North Las Vegas for the location of its newest data center expansion.
