Managed Hosting Division leads award charge with a hatrick of service nominations whilst Netintelligence is recognised for its e-safety capabilities
The 2010 Award nominations for the annual UK Network Computing awards have been unveiled and iomart Group is delighted to have received finalist award nominations in four different categories.
iomart Hosting leads the way with three nominations in the two Network Project of the Year, Public Sector and Private Sector, categories and is recognised for its work in the overall Service Provider of the Year
iomart’s Netintelligence e-safety hosted service, which is being rolled out as part of the UK Government’s Home Access scheme, picked up a nomination as Service Management Product of the Year.
iomart Hosting’s Public Sector network project category nomination has been awarded for migrating the London School of Economics’ website infrastructure away from an in house facility and replacing it with a fully managed outsourced platform housed within the company’s own data centres.
The Private Sector network project nomination is given for iomart Hosting’s provision of a high availability disaster recovery solution for the Government clients of leading UK digital agency Cimex.
Both project award nominations were made following a review by an editorial judging panel. The eventual winners of the Service Provider of the Year and the Service Management Product of the Year will be selected by the readers of Network Computing.
Angus MacSween, CEO, iomart Group stated: “I am delighted with the Group’s four award nominations at this year’s Network Computing Awards, it is a remarkable achievement and one for which we can be rightly proud. I am especially pleased that we have been recognised for our work in both private and public sector categories as this clearly demonstrates that our commitment to high availability and 100% uptime is essential to any organisation regardless of the market in which they operate.”
The Network Computing Awards were launched to recognise the companies, the products and the services that have most impressed the readers and editorial staff of the UK’s longest established computer networking publication.
The winners will be revealed at a gala awards ceremony on the 4th March at Guoman Tower Hotel, London. The organisers expect the event to be attended by over 600 guests from vendors, distributors, information providers and the media.
The three Network Computing Award nominations cap a fine start to the new year for the Group’s managed hosting arm, iomart Hosting. Last week the company revealed that it was the sole European hosting company included within US based HostReview’s Annual Top 10 Readers Choice Awards, and that it had also finished the decade as “the most popular company” on the UK’s Dedicated Server Directory Top 25 list of major web hosting companies.
Other nominees in the Network Computing Awards include: Cisco, Dell, Juniper Networks, IBM, Avaya and Sun Micro.
