Iomega has announced the StorCenter™ ix12-300r Network Storage Array, a rack-mountable storage array aimed at small- and medium-sized businesses and enterprise workgroups that offers up to 24TB of capacity.
Powered by enterprise-class EMC® LifeLine™ software, the StorCenter ix12-300r is available in configurations starting at 4TB, and can be expanded up to 24TB in a single array. Robust connectivity allows simultaneous multi-protocol file and iSCSI block-level access. High performance makes the StorCenter ix12 an ideal candidate for email and database applications or as a fast backup target. High reliability features ensure maximum availability; RAID with hot-swap drives and automatic rebuild; dual hot-swap power supplies; redundant variable-speed hot-swap chassis cooling fans.
The ix12 is powered by an Intel Core2Duo CPU, has 2GB of memory, and comes with four Gigabit Ethernet ports, and three USB 2.0 ports. The array also has hot-swappable fans and power supplies.
