Hostway grtidFlexCloud Platform R2 is the next generation of Hostway’s public cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offering that has been used by thousands of customers worldwide. Among many enhancements, FlexCloud R2 features upgrades to the firewall, internal networking, SAN storage and virtualization technology. The public cloud platform has been redesigned for optimal performance with Microsoft System Center and Windows Server 2012 R2.

Overall, the infrastructure upgrades will provide customers with three key benefits:

Ability to Scale at 3x the Previous Rate – Additional servers, storage, virtual machines and improved firewall architecture provide greater scalability.
10x Increase in Speed – New internal networking enhances back-end communication and lowers latency.
2x Increase in VM Capacity – With the upgrade to Windows Server 2012 R2, vCPUs, memory and storage have been expanded.
Responding to rising demand for hybrid clouds, the new platform offers cutting-edge hybrid cloud enablement technologies. For IT departments that rely on multiple clouds to serve customers, this versatility will ensure a consistent experience across environments.

“Since launching FlexCloud more than three years ago, we’ve received a lot of customer feedback and have incorporated it into our new R2 platform,” said Jim Potter, Vice President of Product Management at Hostway. “R2 is designed for small businesses that want a hybrid cloud solution and require maximum control over their IT lifecycle. Combined with sweeping cuts in cloud pricing, we’ve made FlexCloud more powerful and more accessible than ever before.”
