Two new data center facilities will be opened in 2024 by the Datum Group, a supplier of service-enhanced colocation across the United Kingdom. The move, which comes after Datum’s announcement in 2022 of the purchase of Teledata, a colocation data center in Manchester, will see the business extend its service-enhanced colocation offering to satisfy the rising demand for data center capacity.
The two new colocation facilities, FRN2 and MCR2, will be situated where the Datum Group’s current data centers in Farnborough (FRN1) and Manchester are now located (MCR1). They will provide Datum’ customers more options and freedom when selecting a colocation provider.
At the Teledata facility in Manchester, MCR2 will provide up to 25,000 square feet of space, 4MVA of power, and more than 1,000 additional server racks in both high and standard density.
