Cloud Linux Inc. Goes Global as 16 New Hosting and Data Center Partners Come Online

Cloud Linux Inc., an innovative software company dedicated to serving the needs of hosting service providers, announces that in the last 90 days, it has been selected by 16 dedicated and virtual server providers and data centers covering a broad geographical spectrum of markets including Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines, Russia, Norway, Romania, Portugal, Belgium, Latvia, Ireland, U.K. as well as the U.S. and Canada. As a result, Cloud Linux is now available in the top global hosting markets. These new service provider partners recognize the value of CloudLinux technology, bundling it with their server offering alongside with popular control panels, driven by the growth in popularity of CloudLinux among shared hosting providers.
The newest CloudLinux customers include Hosting Ireland Limited, VeriPortal (Turkey), Usonyx (Singapore), TopHostingCenter (Canada), CH-Center Hosting (Romania) and UK2Group, which operates a family of brands across the U.K. and Europe including VPS.net brand. CloudLinux is gaining traction among a wide range of customers because CloudLinux is uniquely able to address complex shared hosting server issues because now they can reclaim control of their environments, improving stability and performance and making their servers virtually “crash proof.”
“We are grateful to our community of users who have shown tremendous support and interest in our solution,” states Igor Seletskiy, CEO and Founder of Cloud Linux Inc. “The LVE technology was specifically developed for this market and we are honored that these leading edge technology companies trust us to introduce CloudLinux to their infrastructure.”
A key problem that CloudLinux addresses is that while hosting providers often host hundreds or thousands of customers on one server, even with vigilant monitoring, a single customer can affect performance of the entire server adversely. CloudLinux technology allows service providers to control CPU resources at an individual tenant level, significantly improving stability and reliability of the server. Its cutting-edge technology offers service providers the ability to double the density on its servers and control server resources via its new Lightweight Virtual Environment™ (LVE). Priced at a fraction of the cost of other options, CloudLinux LVE helps extract more performance per server, provides flexibility in management and better, faster updates. In addition, CloudLinux recently introduced a series of tools to help hosting providers gain more control over their server environments including:
Secure LVE (beta) extends LVE isolation to users with a virtualized file system. The file system will separate each user into its own environment, preventing one user from seeing any other users on the server. This creates a new level of security, making it much harder for hackers to attack, deface, or steal data from the shared web server.

MySQL Governor (beta) monitors MySQL users and restricts connectivity if they start using too many resources. The tool comes with a utility to see current usage giving unprecedented control and visibility over MySQL usage, significantly diminishing the number of support issues caused by MySQL abuse.

LVE wrappers are the set of tools that allow system administrators to run various users, programs & daemons within a Lightweight Virtual Environment. It provides control over system resources at the application level and prevents misbehaving programs running within the LVE from draining resources and slowing down or taking down the whole system.

Cloud Linux is becoming a popular choice among the wider community of hosting services providers since it is proving to be efficient, profitable and effective at reducing operational downtime. For more information on LVE technology, please visit www.cloudlinux.com

Go Daddy Sponsors Annual Arizona Pet Telethon

Go Daddy, the world’s largest Web host provider and number one domain name registrar headquartered in Scottsdale, matched all online donations during the live telethon to give a total donation of $100,000 to help Arizona’s sheltered animals. Go Daddy’s generosity helped push this year’s Arizona Humane Society (AHS) telethon total to more than $316,600.

Go Daddy has been part of the annual telethon for five consecutive years, stepping up as the title sponsor the past two. The Internet giant also worked again this year to keep the AHS website up and running, and provided employee volunteers to answer the phones.

“Our employees are all about making a difference,” said Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. “Go Daddy is proud to be in a position to help those less fortunate, and we think our contribution will go a long way to help thousands of animals for years to come.”

Bob and Renee Parsons’ dogs, Max and Chief, have also played a role in the telethon over the last several years, delivering the ‘big check’ on live television for the telethon’s big finish. This year, the Parsons’ border terriers were on vacation, appearing instead in a picture postcard during the broadcast. Max and Chief sported leis, keeping with tradition practiced at their tropical retreat.

“We continue to be amazed with Go Daddy’s level of support and sharing in our mission of helping every pet get the good life they deserve,” said Guy Collison, executive director of the Arizona Humane Society. “Go Daddy has played a vital role in the telethon year after year, keeping the website running smoothly, providing volunteers during the event and giving a huge donation of one hundred thousand dollars this year!”

Thousands of sick, injured and homeless animals across Arizona will have their lives saved or improved with the money raised through the telethon. The annual charity event not only generates much needed money for these animals, but also provides low-cost spay and neuter services, as well as educational programs, including how to better care for pets, fight animal cruelty and adopt a pet.

Go Daddy’s philanthropic works support a wide variety of charitable and community organizations dedicated to such causes as domestic violence, child abuse, disabled children, teenage homelessness, Parkinson’s research, breast cancer and more. Go Daddy donated $2.5 million to charitable causes last year and has already surpassed that amount in the first half of 2010.

CirtexHosting Adds CloudLinux to All Servers

CirtexHosting, a leader in Linux Web hosting, today announced it has added CloudLinux on all hosting servers, which is designed to increase server stability and prevent downtime, ultimately improving performance for customers.

CloudLinux is a commercially supported operating system that is interchangeable with the most popular RPM-based distribution on the market. It is specifically designed for hosting service providers, and therefore offers a wide-variety of features designed to make better use of server resources on servers hosting multiple customers.

CirtexHosting also added Memcached, a high-performance memory object caching system, intended for use in speeding up dynamic web applications by alleviating database load. It is used by many of the Web’s largest destinations, including LiveJournal, Wikipedia, Twitter, YouTube, and WordPress.

“Our technicians continually search for new enhancements we can introduce into our hosting environment. After testing a variety of alternatives in our everlasting quest to boost performance, we identified CloudLinux and Memcached as important upgrades to add to our mix of performance optimizations. We’ve already noticed substantial performance increases, which in the long-term reduces downtime and helps our customers keep their websites running fast, even at peak usage times,” said CirtexHosting President John Xie.

All Shared hosting plans from CirtexHosting now offer unlimited RAID protected disk space and unlimited premium bandwidth. Plans start at just $2.49 per month and include Colortex cPanel, 24/7 premium support, and SiteBuilder software. Reseller hosting plans also offer unlimited bandwidth and start at just $24.99 per month.

“CloudLinux shares CirtexHosting’s commitment to provide the highest quality and best performance for their hosting customers,” said Igor Seletskiy, Cloud Linux Inc.’s founder and CEO. “CirtexHosting customers will benefit from the control and reliability our proven technology can deliver.”

In July, CirtexHosting announced a seismic-shift in the way it sells hosting services, dropping both bandwidth and disk space quotas in its entire line of shared hosting services, and dropping bandwidth quotas on everything else. It is also adding telephone-based customer support for the first time.

In the ‘Virtual Era,’ Dell is driving an open and integrated approach to data management. Dell is delivering increased efficiency with a goal of radically reducing data management costs and significantly streamlining operations. These savings enable Dell customers to make room in their budgets for other strategic investments. 3PAR’s product portfolio complements Dell’s goal to make IT simpler and more affordable.

As a pioneer of thin provisioning and other storage virtualization technologies, 3PAR has designed its products to minimize upfront and ongoing capacity purchases, and to reduce power consumption and energy costs. 3PAR’s multi-tenant, clustered storage architecture is the underlying technology platform for IT organizations to build agile and efficient virtualized IT infrastructures for flexible workload consolidation. 3PAR provides rapid provisioning and predictable performance for customers facing ever-increasing storage capacity requirements.

3PAR’s storage arrays are designed to overcome the limitations of traditional modular and monolithic arrays. 3PAR addresses the problem of costly, complex, and rigid IT environments and enables organizations to treat storage as a utility – allowing them to use and pay for only the capacity and performance they need, and only when they use it.

Larrytech Switches to DediPower Managed Hosting

Independent internet services provider and design agency, Larrytech has moved its hosting from the USA to UK-based DediPower in order to obtain a more competitive and personal service and to boost its data handling and processing speeds.

Offering full web hosting and IT consultancy for a broad range of international and British companies in the leisure, security, and commercial property sectors, Larrytech undertook extensive supplier evaluation before switching to DediPower’s hosting services. DediPower now supplies Larrytech with a bespoke infrastructure comprising shared and dedicated servers to meet their needs.

Larrytech founder and Director, Lawrence Hardcastle, explains, “In the past, customers just wanted cheap hosting. Now they realise the value of their digital assets. Consequently, their fragmented approach to website management is being replaced by consolidated, integrated digital activity designed to deliver long term ROI, efficiency and value. In this environment, it is no longer acceptable to supply ‘boxed’ hosting solutions, which is why we moved to DediPower.”

He continues, “Larrytech wanted a hosting partner that could understand its business and offer value added support. DediPower was the best -solid advice, tailored products; a low-pressure, personal approach; and a passion to maintain uptime and availability. Consequently, our hosting system is now super efficient and makes the best use of our resources while giving us complete flexibility and control.

“The payback in terms of faster processing is also very impressive. When we migrated to DediPower, many of our clients were amazed at the difference to their website’s performance. Where relatively small uploads used to take 15 minutes they now take only two. This means we spend more time doing our job than waiting for the system to catch up. This has had a positive impact on our productivity and our own client service.”

Responsiveness was also a key selection criteria according to Lawrence, “Infrastructure acts as the foundation for all our business, so its smooth operation is crucial. DediPower has given us a new level of proactivity – they are fast, responsive and able to meet our demanding requirements and tight deadlines. The stability and quality of solution is excellent, their dedicated Data Centres are designed to ensure 100% availability 24/7 365 days a year. They are also at the forefront of advances in hosting, investing in state of the art solutions – deploying the very latest technology such as Cloud if ever we require it.”

Craig Martin, DediPower CEO confirms, “Larrytech and DediPower share a common goal – to deliver excellence and add outstanding value. Our inherent commercial flexibility and in-house technical expertise means we can both evolve solutions to meet our customers needs – no matter how arduous their operating environment or application.”
