With increasing numbers of brands looking to improve their online communication strategies, by taking steps to speak directly with their audiences online, the Swedish-based company has seen phenomenal growth in the UK, with hundreds of brands eager to take control of the way they communicate online, making their websites more dynamic, engaging and community-led.

Internap Unveils New XIP Web Acceleration Service

Internap Network Services Corporation (Nasdaq: INAP), a global provider of end-to-end Internet business products and services, today announced Accelerated IP (“XIP”), a new service-based Internet traffic accelerator that can dramatically improve the performance of enterprise web services and applications by up to 400%. XIP ? to be shown at Interop in Las Vegas, April 27-29 in booth 550 ? complements Internap’s worldwide Performance IP? route-optimized network, resulting in end-to-end network and application optimization and a superior experience for end users.

As enterprises increasingly deliver mission-critical, latency-sensitive, and often dynamic, applications and services ? such as ecommerce, software as a service (SaaS), financial trading and streaming video ? over the Internet, the performance of the underlying network has become a key priority. One of the primary sources of poor web traffic performance is the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), a fundamental protocol for Internet communications which manages sessions between servers and clients. Designed nearly 40 years ago, TCP can slow the loading and utilization of web based applications due to the inefficient way that it manages session initiation, packet loss, and transmission windows during sessions.

Internap’s XIP service addresses these issues by significantly enhancing TCP, improving recovery time after packet loss is detected and enabling it to transmit more data at a continuously faster rate, allowing the application to load quickly and maintain accelerated performance throughout the entire session. XIP accelerates “application to client” traffic, making it well-suited for dynamic web content with improved response times for websites and web-based applications, as well as faster file downloads ? resulting in higher customer and end user satisfaction.

XIP will be available to customers in combination with Internap’s Performance IP service, which provides premium network connectivity and performance across its global platform of data centers. Deployed by thousands of companies around the world and backed by a 100% uptime service level agreement, Performance IP combines the ability to deliver traffic across numerous carrier networks globally with patented Managed Internet Route Optimizer? (MIRO) technology. Similar to the way in which XIP overcomes TCP’s inherent design issues that inhibit today’s enterprise business models, MIRO overcomes limitations with the Internet’s Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) by delivering traffic over the best-performing network path versus the shortest. The combination of XIP and Performance IP better position enterprises to address today’s more dynamic and demanding IT delivery models and applications needs.

XIP is the first web traffic accelerator to be delivered as a service from ‘source to destination’, resulting in enhanced traffic performance from the application to the end user. As a service, XIP expands the geographic reach of applications, allowing high-performance application delivery from any location ? and also reducing costs ? by eliminating the need to deploy hardware and software at regional data centers or on the client side.

“The new XIP service ensures enterprises and SaaS providers of high-performance websites and applications through a services model that eliminates the need for expensive hardware and cumbersome end user software,” said Scott Hrastar, senior vice president ? IP Service at Internap. “When combined with the performance benefits of our premium IP network services, enterprises will reap the benefits of unparalleled, end-to-end network and application optimization.”

Internap’s new XIP service will be available in select markets starting in the second quarter of 2010. For more information about Internap’s XIP service, visit: www.internap.com.

YESpay Launches New Cloud Managed Card Payment Service

YESpay has successfully launched its new cloud computing architecture for its 4 global card payments transaction processing data centres located in London (UK), Heathrow (UK), Toronto (Canada) and San Francisco (USA). Cloud computing refers to accessing dynamically scalable and often virtualized IT resources as a service over the Internet.

“Our EMBOSS card payment service probably the world’s first card payment service to develop and deploy our new cloud computing architecture as defined by industry experts such as Sun Microsystems”, said Dr. Chandra Patni, CEO and CTO of YESpay group of companies.
YESpay provides its integrated card transaction processing service to merchants throughout Europe and North America (USA and Canada). YESpay’s new 4 data centres, branded as EMBOSS, work on the new cloud computing architecture and deliver a resilient payment service to its customers through a “Software as a Service model” (SaaS) model. In a SaaS model, a single application is accessed by thousands of customers through the Internet. The main application is hosted centrally in multiple EMBOSS data centres and a basic software (EasyV Terminal) is installed at the customers end to facilitate communication with the host. In this type of multitenant architecture, customers are just thin clients with no requirements for servers or software licenses. The customers of such a service model are generally billed on a utility (pay as you use) or subscription basis.
The benefits deriving from YESpay’s SaaS model range from infinite scalability to reduced infrastructure investment and no software licensing charges. The main benefits of replicating cloud computing architecture for YESpay’s customers are categorized below.
Data Security
Since YESpay is responsible for storing the cardholder data on behalf of its clients, it ensures high levels of security, certified to PCI DSS level 1 at all its data centres throughout Europe and North America.
Commercial Benefits
With YESpay’s SaaS model, there is no capital investment required for the merchant, just operational monthly service costs. Customers don’t need their own operational staff and physical equipment (such as servers, storage, networks, and virtualization technologies) and can access YESpay’s payment solution over the internet.
Service Availability
YESpay EMBOSS Cloud computing load sharing gives 99.99% availability (practically 100%) even during maintenance, upgrades, etc, and additionally multiple load sharing data centres provide auto Disaster Recovery (DR) capability. Hence, YESpay is utilizing the cloud computing revolution to impart a fully resilient and “ready for future” payment services to its customers helping them adapt and excel in the ever changing card payment market scenario.
About YESpay International Ltd:

In addition, YESpay’s EMBOSS service is fully end to end certified to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) Level 1 as mandated by Visa and MasterCard. The integrated systems simplify the jobs of SMB IT professionals by allowing them to monitor and administrate Rackspace cloud email services within the Spiceworks IT management interface, rather than launching a separate portal.
The relationship with Spiceworks allows Rackspace to extend the functionality and reach of its hosted email services, including Rackspace Email, Microsoft Exchange or a hybrid of both, through the use of Rackspace’s APIs that are available to customers and partners interested in integrating with the Rackspace cloud email platform. For Spiceworks, the integration is part of an ongoing effort to provide SMB IT professionals free management capabilities for their on-premise, cloud-based and hybrid IT infrastructures.

“Managing IT today means more than just taking care of the computers and software within the four walls of your company,” said Scott Abel, co-founder and CEO of Spiceworks. “Already, over 25 percent of SMBs rely on one or more cloud-based services to keep their organizations running, and that number keeps growing. By working with Rackspace, we’re simplifying the jobs of IT professionals by giving them the ability to manage both their on-premise technologies and cloud-based services through a single integrated IT management application.”

Spiceworks will support the management of Rackspace’s cloud email services with the following key features:

Email Usage – shows the current status of a company’s Rackspace cloud email services, including the top 5 email users in the organization, the status of available licenses vs. used licenses, and the number of Blackberry and Active Sync accounts.
Account Management – provides users with a full list of the domains they manage with Rackspace, including the total number of mailboxes per domain. In addition, resellers can access information on the customer mailbox accounts they manage with Rackspace.
Email Account Monitors – provides alerts when an individual mailbox nears its capacity limit. For example, when free space is below 5 percent or when it’s less than 50MB.
Community – Rackspace cloud email users will have the opportunity to collaborate within the Spiceworks social IT management application and community of 950,000 IT professionals who currently use Spiceworks to manage over 31 million email accounts.
“Both Rackspace and Spiceworks are committed to creating the best experience for our customers and making IT simple and affordable for businesses,” said Jim Curry, VP of Corporate Development at Rackspace. “Through our relationship with Spiceworks, we’ll provide a new avenue for nearly 1 million Spiceworks customers to integrate and manage the Rackspace cloud email platform within their IT.”

Rackspace offers a full suite of cloud-based applications including email, collaboration and storage solutions.
