White Sky, Inc. and EarthLink, Inc. today announced that EarthLink will offer ID Vault’s Free Edition, the popular, award-winning online identity theft prevention software powered by White Sky. With this free offer to its customers, EarthLink is helping to protect them from identity threats when they bank, shop and invest online.
“ID Vault is an effective solution to provide additional protection for our customers against the explosion of new online ID theft threats including bank Trojans, phishing attacks and man-in-the-middle attacks,” said Kevin Brand, EarthLink senior vice president of product. “ID Vault complements our existing security product portfolio and further promotes EarthLink’s goal of providing our customers with a safer and more secure Internet experience.”
Specifically, ID Vault Free Edition will allow EarthLink’s customers to store and protect up to five online accounts and one credit card account at no additional cost. EarthLink’s customers may also purchase ID Vault Premier Edition for a $2.95 monthly subscription fee or an annual fee of $29.95.
“The main reason people don’t shop online today is fear of identity theft; and as a result less than 20 percent of consumer shopping today is done online,” according to David Watkins, CEO of White Sky. “These fears are understandable considering the escalation in identity threats not covered by standard anti-virus and security suites, making it necessary for users to get the added protection of ID Vault. We applaud EarthLink for taking the initiative to safeguard their customers with this added layer of protection.”
