During the International Supercomputing Conference (ISC), Intel Corporation announced plans to deliver new products based on the Intel(R) Many Integrated Core (MIC) architecture that will create platforms running at trillions of calculations per second, while also retaining the benefits of standard Intel processors.
Intel announced a new 32 Core Server Chip named Knights Ferry. Knights Ferry will have 32 cores, each running at 1.2 GHz. The device will have 8 MB coherent cache 1 or 2 GB of GDDR5 memory and run 128 threads (4 threads per core).
